What We Do

We partner with schools to provide personalized school-based mental health services for General Education, Special Education, and Alternative Schools that are on-site and customized to each district or school.

"I've learned that people will forget what you've said, people will forget what you did, but they will never forget the way you made them feel."

~Maya Angelou

Why Contract with The Miri Center

We partner with you throughout the entire process of staffing mental health personnel.  We take on the burden of recruiting, hiring, managing, and paying mental health personnel.  Miri Center Therapists work as a part of your team with teachers and staff to reach your goals quicker.

The Miri Center is an approved NPA which means we are certified annually by the CDE to provide Educationally Related Mental Health Services and Counseling, which is a requirement for all agencies providing IEP services.

Save Time & Money

One of the most widespread misconceptions about hiring mental health therapists through an agency is that it's too expensive. Some might be inclined to think they are saving money by hiring staff directly when in many cases it can be quite costly with having to pay payroll taxes and withholdings, benefits, time off, etc. By contracting with The Miri Center, you can save time and money by paying only one reasonably priced bill per month.

Top Notch Providers & Reduced HR Responsibilities

The Miri Center has a group of pre-screened, qualified and experienced assessors, therapists, and speech-language pathologists available. This will allow you to cut down on the extremely time-consuming human resource responsibilities and process of reviewing resumes and conducting lengthy interviews, all while still being responsible for the day-to-day operations of managing directly hired personnel.

Reduce Risk & Legal Liability

We understand the very complicated laws, regulations, and ethics surrounding mental health services, counseling, and assessments, which are regulated by the Board of Psychology and Board of Behavioral Sciences. Along with covering personnel payroll expenses, there are a lot of legal responsibilities involved with being an employer, providing insurance coverage, and following labor laws. From a financial and operational standpoint, hiring employees also comes with financial risks, especially if someone has to be fired or unexpectedly terminates, leaving gaps in mental health services. When you contract with The Miri center, we assume many of these liabilities for you.

True Understanding of What Makes The School-Based Setting Unique

We offer on-site school-based program
development which allows us the ability to fully integrate and adapt to the comfort of the child While traditional therapy office visits work well for many of the students we meet with, we think outside the box and it's not uncommon to see our Therapists tossing a ball around with a student or taking a walk
around campus with a child during therapy sessions This can often increase the child's willingness to share, trust, build rapport, and participate in a way he or she may not have in an office setting, which often leads to better outcomes.

Workforce Adaptability

Because our services are contracted, it allows you to have a flexible workforce that is fluid and that can be dynamically adjusted to meet your hiring needs. You can have a steady availability of mental health personnel on an ongoing basis without leaving gaps of mental health services. With our steady flow of qualified candidates, we can adapt with the ebb and flow of your school’s mental health needs so that you can remain focused on student achievement.
